Party Hard: Beautifuly Brutal Fun

Party Hard for Nintendo Switch

Could Ya Quiet Down!

It’s time to Party Hard, and get down with another Q4P game reveiew! You’re an annoyed neighbor praying for some peace and quiet, but the quietness never comes. So you decide to take matters into your own hands, and kill them all! Tiny Build has once again nailed down solid, addicting, fun gameplay in Partry Hard. In Party Hard you take on the role of the annoyed neighbor that goes on a killing spree, ending each party one at a time.

Beautifully Brutal Fun

Brutally Fun Gameplay

The idea is simple, you show up at a party and you kill each guest. The gameplay may be simple but Party Hard will have you slaughtering people in all sorts of creative ways. Your character has one attack, but the levels are full of environmental traps to further your massacre. For instance some levels may have a keg or drink bowel that you can spike with poison which will start taking people out slowly. You can knock someone of a roof, or push someone into a fan all effective methods of taking down the party.

But before you turn into a straight up Jason Voorhees, you need to plan your attack. If someone catches you in the act they will call the police. They will also call the 5-0 if they see a body. The cops will come to the party to bag bodies. If you are called out as the killer, the fuzz will chase you. You can outrun them, and they will give up, but when they come back, they will be harder to shake.

Outside guests that show up at the party consist of firemen, EMT’s, FBI agents, and your friendly local arms dealer. The salesman, who reminds me of the “Whatcha buyin'” guy from Resident Evil 4, will show up from time to time and will hook you up with an item to aid you in your mission. There is a whole bunch of things that you can get like poison, smoke bombs, and more.

The levels in Party Hard will change every time you restart a level. This will keep you on your toes looking for a new way to take people down. Layouts stay the same but the objects that aid you like beer kegs, punch bowls, grills etc, will change.

Bag The Bodies and Party Down

Party Hard hits so many notes right that make it a must play, especially on Nintendo Switch. It fits the handheld nature of the switch where you can pull it out and kill time (pun intended). With that said, I really do hope that Party Hard 2 will come to switch. It is a game I’d recommend playing with the sound up or with headphones. The music really upgrades the gameplay. Its catchy music that doesn’t wear out while you play. The game also has a story that unfolds as you play, if you’re into storylines. Party Hard will have you coming back for more for a long time. I truly recommend grabbing this game if you haven’t already. Tiny Build keeps pumping out gems like Party Hard and has me super excited to play the squeal.

Looking back at E3

E3 2018

Looking back at E3 2018 after all of the major conferences. I can say that in the moment going through the trenches of emotions and fanboy pride. People said something’s to other members in the community they didn’t mean. I’m also sure sometimes we couldn’t open our minds and try to see things from a different perspective. I am a part of this guilty party and I am also sure a lot of you are too. After taking some time to look back and reflect on each conference. I came to the conclusion that we can all find something to be happy about and also things we can be disappointed about. At the end of the day we should learn to be happy for one another. We should learn to be happy with other people even if we are not excited about something. This is becoming harder and harder for people to do. Especially in this social media age. Where everyone thinks they are writing for a major video game editorial publication. In this day and age people think it’s the negative narrative that creates clicks. That is true, but I feel that it is up to us the video game enthusiast to lead the charge and focus on the positive. I am extremely happy for my PlayStation friends who got to see Last of us 2. They were able to see that the game does look good and it also has all of the feels that make you drowned in a sea of emotions. There were also people really excited about the new resident evil 2 remake. That’s not for me but I’m happy they got that game. For my Xbox friends I am over the moon for them that they got to see that Xbox has a clear path for the future. They are on the road to the top of the gaming industry again. Then there are the Nintendo friends of mine. I am happy that the Smash community is getting a great technical smash again and that even casual player will be able to enjoy this as well. They were also surprised with a awesome looking Mario party game. In the end we love video games and we should be happy for one another. Because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what plasticity box we buy we’re all looked at the same when people find out we like video games. “You like video games. Aren’t those for children. “

God of Cardboard

4/20 mean its time to break into God of War, or maybe you have an insatiable love of cardboard. if so Labo is the product for you!

Paper Cuts and 4K

godoflabo

What a crazy day in the video game world yesterday On 4/20. On one side you had ultra 4k graphics. The other side, you had people building cardboard pianos and robot suits. The great thing about this is that, no matter what end of the console war you land on, people were able to come together and celebrate video games. It was fun to see twitter filled with pictures of people opening there God of war PS4. And all the people diving into there kits of labor. 4/20 was a day that people could finally put preference aside to just enjoy the thing we all love, video games.

Nintendo Labo

What one did you pick up yesterday, God of war, or Labo? post your pictures of your pickups to the Q4P twitter

Tesla VS Lovecraft Review

By Mike BC

Tesla VS Lovecraft – What You Need to know!

Tesla VS Lovecraft is a top down, twin stick shooter. Nikola Tesla has just uncovered his ability to harness the power of electricity.  A fiction writer by the name of Lovecraft gives him a stern but mysterious warning.  In short, he tells Tesla not mess with what he doesn’t understand.  This leads to an all out mech war between the two men.  You play as Tesla defending against the onslaught of fantasy creatures from Lovecraft’s mind.

Tesla VS Lovecraft – Choosing sides!

Tesla is your main character.  One of the main issues I had with this game was that I wanted to play as Lovecraft and control his hordes of literary nightmares.  Unfortunately, the game only allows you to play as Tesla.  This is a huge misstep in the game because had they gone the extra mile to include a Lovecraft side, there could have been a great vs multiplayer mode.  Instead, the game chooses sides for you.

Tesla VS Lovecraft – Great Improvements!

When I first opened the game, I didn’t know what to expect from it.  The opening cut scene immediately grabbed my interest.  When the first level started, I audibly groaned.  The last twin stick shooter I reviewed for 10tons was Jydge.  I lambasted some of the options of that game on the podcast because it felt too much like a mobile game in ways that it shouldn’t on a console.

I am happy to report that every criticism I gave that game was improved in Tesla VS Lovecraft.  Tesla VS Lovecraft doesn’t use achievements to open new areas of the map.  The game doesn’t give you pointless tasks that require you to play the same levels repeatedly.  You get a full experience that you can just go right through.

Tesla VS Lovecraft – Play or Pass?

Tesla VS Lovecraft is a great option for you no matter where you play.  The game is available now on XBOX One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.  You won’t get bored playing because every experience will be new and fresh.

Tesla VS Lovecraft for XBOX One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch – PLAY!
