The first Direct of the year

With the first Nintendo Direct of the year less then 24 hours away, lets talk about what we might see tomorrow. With the out cry from the Nintendo fan base at a all time high, so much so that investor are asking Nintendo if they are still having directs or not. It is fun to speculate as to what games will be in the direct, and with a time of 35 minutes there is a whole lot that can happen. My best guesses would be we see some of the new Yoshi game coming in March. Nintendo has said they will talk about the new Fire Emblem game. I would think that Nintendo would give a little information on the new Luigi’s mansion game for the Nintendo Switch. The same would go for the new Animal Crossing game for the Nintendo Switch as well.

frustration

Built up frustration

One thing that is not fun about Nintendo Directs are, all of the salty and angry post from people who wholeheartedly believed every single Direct rumor out there. We all know a twitter account or a YouTube channel, that will for the next weeks to come just pour hate and shade at the Big N for how horrible the Direct was. First Nintendo did not make all of these rumors up an swear they are true, so please don’t hate Nintendo for that, hold the source of the rumor  responsible for lying to you. Second remember that Nintendo likes to focus 6 months to a year in advance so don’t be expecting any announcements for 2023 (Metriod). Really what I am trying to say is, we all love Nintendo and want to see them do well, but please giver your hopes and expectations a reality check before watching this Nintendo Direct tomorrow.

Looking back at E3

E3 2018

Looking back at E3 2018 after all of the major conferences. I can say that in the moment going through the trenches of emotions and fanboy pride. People said something’s to other members in the community they didn’t mean. I’m also sure sometimes we couldn’t open our minds and try to see things from a different perspective. I am a part of this guilty party and I am also sure a lot of you are too. After taking some time to look back and reflect on each conference. I came to the conclusion that we can all find something to be happy about and also things we can be disappointed about. At the end of the day we should learn to be happy for one another. We should learn to be happy with other people even if we are not excited about something. This is becoming harder and harder for people to do. Especially in this social media age. Where everyone thinks they are writing for a major video game editorial publication. In this day and age people think it’s the negative narrative that creates clicks. That is true, but I feel that it is up to us the video game enthusiast to lead the charge and focus on the positive. I am extremely happy for my PlayStation friends who got to see Last of us 2. They were able to see that the game does look good and it also has all of the feels that make you drowned in a sea of emotions. There were also people really excited about the new resident evil 2 remake. That’s not for me but I’m happy they got that game. For my Xbox friends I am over the moon for them that they got to see that Xbox has a clear path for the future. They are on the road to the top of the gaming industry again. Then there are the Nintendo friends of mine. I am happy that the Smash community is getting a great technical smash again and that even casual player will be able to enjoy this as well. They were also surprised with a awesome looking Mario party game. In the end we love video games and we should be happy for one another. Because at the end of the day it doesn’t matter what plasticity box we buy we’re all looked at the same when people find out we like video games. “You like video games. Aren’t those for children. “

Nintendo switch hack what it could mean

Nintendo switch hack good or bad

The Nintendo community is all a buzz. The Nintendo switch has been hacked finally, by a group named Reswitched project. Is the Nintendo switch hack a good thing or is it a bad idea? From all of the information I have been able to find about this Nintendo switch hack. I can’t see any good to come from this hack.

What is the Nintendo switch hack?

What could go wrong

You might be asking yourself what could go wrong. I’m glad you asked. If you have spent any time going back to the first Splatoon on WiiU. You will find nothing but  players using mods to stack there gear, and make themselves invincible. In my opinion playing with people like that takes all the fun out of the game. In another game series that I love (Pokemon) you can find cheating of the same kind. I’m talking about the competitive pokemon VGC. It is extremely hard to find top players who are not taking advantage of hack on the 3DS.

How this happens is they use a computer program that makes pokemon to the trainers specification. For example they can make a pokemon have stats that make it more defensive. At the end of the day this is wrong because, players modify the pokemon and import them from outside the game. Giving some players a unfair advantage.

top Pokemon players found cheating through hacks

Nothing good can come of this

In the end, nothing good can come from this. it is only going to open the door for players who want to gain unfair advantages in games. One more thing to point out is that modifying your switch the way the hack calls for would void the warranty on the switch. There would also be consequences for individualizes who are found using this hack. Back when pokemon Sun and Moon came out. There were copy of the games were put on to home brew. 3DS  players that were caught using the game were pertinently band from Nintendo online services like the eshop mainly or online play.  If you plan on hacking your Nintendo switch I ask that you think of all the consequences before going a head with it.

Xbox at E3 2018

The underdog

xboxe3

To be truthful, I am not expecting anything to great from Xbox this year at E3, in all honesty, there are a lot of people thinking like this. Some might think that it would be a bad thing for Xbox, not me. This year could be the year that Xbox takes everyone by surprise, who knows what kind of games they have waiting to be put on Gamepass, also there are rumors going around 4chan, some of the rumors that caught my eye were, a possible Halo reboot, Metro exodus, the last night, shadow of the Tomb Raider, cyberpunk 2077, anthem, splinter cell and Boarder lands 3, the thing about all of these game “leaks”  is that they are listed as having market deals or are only able to be found on the Xbox. If Xbox plays its cards right E3 will be theirs for the taking .

Nintendo at E3 2018: What I Would Like To See

Nintendo at E3

supersmashbros-nintendo-670x335

This year at E3 I believe Nintendo has to bring there A game. The primary thing Nintendo has to address at E3 is the online service and the virtual console. Nintendo has kept us all in the dark for far too long, to the point where many people are starting to worry about how great it will be. We have all heard rumors of the NES and SNES game they are working on with leaderboards and online co-op, but will that be enough when we are seeing XBOX coming out with game pass, and you know they are going to have some more big announcements for the service come E3.

With the online service will we see things that we have all become accustomed to with the other consoles? Significant issues are stability and cloud saves in my opinion, a close second to that is, will we see the streaming feature that was stumbled across in rocket leagues new update with the ability to broadcast to twitch.

But what about the games GAMESGAMESGAMES

Another concern for me is what games will they bring to E3. So far the only game that we know from big N is the new Smash Bros game. At least that is the only one anyone wants to think about. Nintendo will be showing Smash off in an invite-only tournament, that is great and all but we need to see more because you know Sony will be showing off more of Spiderman, last of us and Detroit, three highly anticipated games.  I think Nintendo will have something more from Metroid to show us at E3. Will we possibly see the game that Retro Studios are working on?

Swing for the fences

gobig

I believe that 2018 is Nintendo’s to lose. We all know they can take E3 by storm with just one game. I want to see Nintendo do something different and blow everyone’s mind; I want to see them bring out there very own M rated game. What that looks like I’m not sure, let’s see them be creative and wow us all. What are your thought on Nintendo at E3?
