Nintendo Direct February 2019

The first Direct of the year

With the first Nintendo Direct of the year less then 24 hours away, lets talk about what we might see tomorrow. With the out cry from the Nintendo fan base at a all time high, so much so that investor are asking Nintendo if they are still having directs or not. It is fun to speculate as to what games will be in the direct, and with a time of 35 minutes there is a whole lot that can happen. My best guesses would be we see some of the new Yoshi game coming in March. Nintendo has said they will talk about the new Fire Emblem game. I would think that Nintendo would give a little information on the new Luigi’s mansion game for the Nintendo Switch. The same would go for the new Animal Crossing game for the Nintendo Switch as well.

frustration

Built up frustration

One thing that is not fun about Nintendo Directs are, all of the salty and angry post from people who wholeheartedly believed every single Direct rumor out there. We all know a twitter account or a YouTube channel, that will for the next weeks to come just pour hate and shade at the Big N for how horrible the Direct was. First Nintendo did not make all of these rumors up an swear they are true, so please don’t hate Nintendo for that, hold the source of the rumor  responsible for lying to you. Second remember that Nintendo likes to focus 6 months to a year in advance so don’t be expecting any announcements for 2023 (Metriod). Really what I am trying to say is, we all love Nintendo and want to see them do well, but please giver your hopes and expectations a reality check before watching this Nintendo Direct tomorrow.

Nintendo E3 2018 why it’s going to flop

Why is it going to FLow? Nintendo at E3…

Nintendo at E3, Not Again

If you know me, you know I’m a die-hard Nintendo fan. I show my love and support for the big N with a half tattoo sleeve sporting Nintendo’s number one franchise, Mario. This is why it is uncomfortable for me to say this but, E3 2018 is going to be a bust for Nintendo. Nintendo’s big plans are to only Bring Smash Brothers 5 to the E3 show floor. Yes, it worked with Zelda. It also worked with Mario Odyssey. Not with Smash and here’s why.

Save Some Surprises For The Launch Day

With fighting games like Smash 5, it will be very hard to keep somethings a surprise for Nintendo at E3. Especially if it’s all you will be showing off. With Mario and Zelda, you could show little areas and keep people with just that experience. Nintendo will be having a pro-community Smash 5 tournament. How can you make hype with only showing two to three fighters you can’t.

Days Gone By

Gone are the days when we only had four-page spreads in Nintendo Power. Now everything about a game is spoiled as soon as it is announced and leaves nothing to find out on launch day. I guess I’m just old-fashioned in that way. My mother always told me “why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free”

I feel there will be nothing left for us to experience with Smash 5 on launch day after Nintendo E3 this year, and that’s a shame

Fortnite for Nintendo Switch?

Fortnite on Switch not if but when

Your first question might be, I thought Epic didn’t like Nintendo. I would say that’s not correct, first Nintendo has always had underpowered consoles, so they would not be able to run the Unreal engine. Then people would argue the WiiU could have ran Unreal engine 3 but, at the launch of the WiiU Epic had stopped supporting it, and had moved on to unreal engine 4. Nintendo has worked close with epic studios in Japan to make sure the Nintendo switch would be capable to run one of the most popular gaming engines. A great example of unreal engine 4 running on Switch is Rocket league, the engine is able to easily scale the game for docked and handheld.

Money talks

makeitrainfortnite

The first three weeks Fortnite was available on iOS pulled in 15 Million dollars, and that is crazy to think about because it was on an invite-only access. According to CNET, the Nintendo Switch had sold 14.8 as of January 30, 2018. that seems like a lot of money on the table for the people over at Epic to get a hold of, I know for myself I play Fortnite on my Xbox, but I have not spent a dime on the game, if it came to the Nintendo Switch, however, the wallet would be open, in the end, its only a matter of time before Fortnite comes to the Switch, I would say if I’m a betting man that it will be an E3 2018 announcement

Nintendo at E3 2018: What I Would Like To See

Nintendo at E3

supersmashbros-nintendo-670x335

This year at E3 I believe Nintendo has to bring there A game. The primary thing Nintendo has to address at E3 is the online service and the virtual console. Nintendo has kept us all in the dark for far too long, to the point where many people are starting to worry about how great it will be. We have all heard rumors of the NES and SNES game they are working on with leaderboards and online co-op, but will that be enough when we are seeing XBOX coming out with game pass, and you know they are going to have some more big announcements for the service come E3.

With the online service will we see things that we have all become accustomed to with the other consoles? Significant issues are stability and cloud saves in my opinion, a close second to that is, will we see the streaming feature that was stumbled across in rocket leagues new update with the ability to broadcast to twitch.

But what about the games GAMESGAMESGAMES

Another concern for me is what games will they bring to E3. So far the only game that we know from big N is the new Smash Bros game. At least that is the only one anyone wants to think about. Nintendo will be showing Smash off in an invite-only tournament, that is great and all but we need to see more because you know Sony will be showing off more of Spiderman, last of us and Detroit, three highly anticipated games.  I think Nintendo will have something more from Metroid to show us at E3. Will we possibly see the game that Retro Studios are working on?

Swing for the fences

I believe that 2018 is Nintendo’s to lose. We all know they can take E3 by storm with just one game. I want to see Nintendo do something different and blow everyone’s mind; I want to see them bring out there very own M rated game. What that looks like I’m not sure, let’s see them be creative and wow us all. What are your thought on Nintendo at E3?
