Party Hard: Beautifuly Brutal Fun

Party Hard for Nintendo Switch

Could Ya Quiet Down!

It’s time to Party Hard, and get down with another Q4P game reveiew! You’re an annoyed neighbor praying for some peace and quiet, but the quietness never comes. So you decide to take matters into your own hands, and kill them all! Tiny Build has once again nailed down solid, addicting, fun gameplay in Partry Hard. In Party Hard you take on the role of the annoyed neighbor that goes on a killing spree, ending each party one at a time.

Beautifully Brutal Fun

Brutally Fun Gameplay

The idea is simple, you show up at a party and you kill each guest. The gameplay may be simple but Party Hard will have you slaughtering people in all sorts of creative ways. Your character has one attack, but the levels are full of environmental traps to further your massacre. For instance some levels may have a keg or drink bowel that you can spike with poison which will start taking people out slowly. You can knock someone of a roof, or push someone into a fan all effective methods of taking down the party.

But before you turn into a straight up Jason Voorhees, you need to plan your attack. If someone catches you in the act they will call the police. They will also call the 5-0 if they see a body. The cops will come to the party to bag bodies. If you are called out as the killer, the fuzz will chase you. You can outrun them, and they will give up, but when they come back, they will be harder to shake.

Outside guests that show up at the party consist of firemen, EMT’s, FBI agents, and your friendly local arms dealer. The salesman, who reminds me of the “Whatcha buyin'” guy from Resident Evil 4, will show up from time to time and will hook you up with an item to aid you in your mission. There is a whole bunch of things that you can get like poison, smoke bombs, and more.

The levels in Party Hard will change every time you restart a level. This will keep you on your toes looking for a new way to take people down. Layouts stay the same but the objects that aid you like beer kegs, punch bowls, grills etc, will change.

Bag The Bodies and Party Down

Party Hard hits so many notes right that make it a must play, especially on Nintendo Switch. It fits the handheld nature of the switch where you can pull it out and kill time (pun intended). With that said, I really do hope that Party Hard 2 will come to switch. It is a game I’d recommend playing with the sound up or with headphones. The music really upgrades the gameplay. Its catchy music that doesn’t wear out while you play. The game also has a story that unfolds as you play, if you’re into storylines. Party Hard will have you coming back for more for a long time. I truly recommend grabbing this game if you haven’t already. Tiny Build keeps pumping out gems like Party Hard and has me super excited to play the squeal.

Sea Of Thieves Simple Gold Guide

Sea Of Thieves Simple Gold Guide

If you are like me, you’re thinking to yourself “man items in Sea of Thieves are so expensive!” But worry not I have a spot on Sea Of Thieves Simple Gold Guide. The main task in this guide in completing merchant missions delivering chickens. They are one of the easiest most efficient ways to earn money in Sea of Thieves. Read on to find out how to master the way of the chicken.

Step One: Get Those Skulls

When you first start the game instead of going on gold hunts, turn your attention to the Order of Souls faction. This faction offers you quests to take down a horde of skeletons and take out their leader. the Leader will drop a skull which you bring back to an outpost to sell. These missions are usually quick and not to tough to tackle on your own. Be sure to stock up on bananas while doing the Order of the Souls missions, as you will be fighting a lot of skeletons. The skulls you can receive are; Foul skull (100-250 gold), Disgraced Skull (250-400 gold), Hateful skull (500 gold), Villainous skull (800-1700 gold), and Stronghold skull (2000-4000 gold). Keep in mind you will be receiving mainly foul and disgraced skulls and maybe a few hateful skulls at the beginning.

Step Two: Catching Chickens

Once you have acquired some gold from hunting skulls you can move on to the Merchant faction. The merchant will send you on quests for chickens, pigs, and snakes. What you want to target is chickens, specifically black and gold chickens. These missions are much quicker and less deadly than the Order of the Souls mission. This is the main way to earn gold in this Sea Of Thieves Simple Gold Guide. What you want to do is pick up all three available merchant missions from the merchant on the dock. Return to your ship and vote in one of the missions. You want to aim to get a black and gold chicken mission, but red and black is decent as well. Avoid doing any mission that sends you after white chickens as they are not worth much.

Gearing Up and Finding Chickens

Every time you vote on a mission return to the merchant on the dock an collect cages for the mission. If you get a white chicken mission, collect the cages for that mission then vote to cancel the mission. You want to have the spare cages. That way if you come across gold chickens you can trap them and keep them on your ship. You can sell them when you return to port.Though selling chickens you don’t have a mission for yield less gold. I recommend keeping them until you have a mission to sell them. The chickens will not die on your boat and do not require any attention. This is why the chicken missions are much better than the other animals. There are many islands that will have chickens, and most are near ports. A few of the islands that normally have chickens on them are; Chicken Isle (imagine that), and Crooks Hollow. You can find a full list of islands that have chickens here.

chicken guide to gold

Step Three: Cashing In

A simple black and red chicken mission will usually bring in around 1,000 gold, instantly making it better than the treasure chest missions. A black and gold chicken mission can bring in anywhere from 1,600 to 2,400 gold per trip! Usually, you will be able to find both chickens you need on the same island. This is better than having to sail to two of three different islands like the Order of the Souls missions. The Chicken missions are one of the easiest ways to make butt loads of gold and are simple to do if you find yourself sailing alone.

The Final Station Review

By Mike BC

What You Need To Know!

The Final Station is a side scroller and a train simulator.  106 Years after The First Visitation, The Final Station picks up with another visitation from a mysterious invasion that seems like zombies.  The enemies you fight during the side scrolling are dark humanoid figures that seem like shadow figures with eyes.  The most basic of these enemies moves slowly and can be taken out with a single charged melee attack.  There are other enemies though like the shorter faster enemies that require multiple melee attacks even if the first one is charged.  Another enemy moves slowly but has riot gear lending more credence to the idea that these enemies are zombies.  Throughout the game, you will have limited resources so choose when to use food and medkits wisely. In every level, you will have to keep people alive on the train and once you arrive at your destination, you’ll have to find the train code to move on.

The Good

The Final Station does a great job storytelling.  You start with little to no understanding of what’s happening.  When the game first starts, it gives the impression that you’re playing a “slice of life” game.  Everything seems very ordinary to the point of nearly being boring.  With every level, another piece of the puzzle is unlocked until you finally see what’s been there all along.  When you get that a-ha! moment and see what’s been going on, there is a deep sense of satisfaction in understanding.  The gameplay is solid! When the conflict began, I initially thought it was needlessly difficult.  The more I played, I realized that it was more than a simple side scroller.  In fact, the game relies on the player using strategy to get through every level.  The Switch version that we reviewed, is very good because the game plays very well in both handheld and tv mode but it did seem more fitting for the handheld mode.

The Bad

The Final Station had a few problems.  The game does a checkpoint system so that if you die during the level, you go back to the most recent checkpoint.  The problem isn’t with the system but with the checkpoint itself.  The checkpoint isn’t something you see, but rather, it happens automatically.  When you restart at the checkpoint, you go back to the same time and circumstances as when you were there previously.  If you were already low on health or resources when you cross the checkpoint, then dying may not necessarily help you get any further.  The fix to this is that at any time you can open the menu and restart the level.  The second problem is a nitpicky one.  During the train sim portion of the game, you have to keep your passengers alive.  If they get too hungry or low on health, they will die.  Medkits come up in each level and at times, I found myself with an extra for a passenger.  Food, on the other hand, was scarce and more than once, a passenger would die from starvation.  This wouldn’t be a problem except that your performance in the game is measured by whether or not your passengers survive trips on the train.  Lastly, at $19.99 USD, the game would be better priced at $14.99 like it is on Steam, PS4, and XBOX One.

Should You Play?

The Final Station is a unique experience.  I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent with it. However, this game may not be for everyone.  If you enjoy side scrolling action, you should give it a go.  If the train simulator is all that catches your attention, know that it is a small part of the game.  In fact, the game would not suffer if it wasn’t in there.  Overall, I can recommend this game to enthusiasts of the genre.

Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder

Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder. Devastated

paper wars quest 4 pixels
Have you ever found yourself just endlessly scrolling through the Nintendo Switch EShop,
not sure of what you’re looking for, or even what you want to play. You come acrossana icon
that looks like a picture a young child drew of a soldier. You keep going because you tell
yourself that looks childish. That’s where you are wrong. Paper wars for the Nintendo
Switch is a hidden gem, worth your time and affection.

Here they come

Paper war treats your eyes to a unique art style that looks like it was made out of notepad
sketches. After that you have the options of playing through three chapters made up of
twenty-eight mission each, you also have the option of playing a survival mode. After
jumping into a mission, you are tasked with holding the hordes of enemies off, by shooting at
them with your tank and using power-ups that appear on the battlefield.
Each mission begins with a short description of what needs to be accomplished. This is
really nice because it switches the gameplay up just enough to keep the game interesting.
Some missions might have you focus on only one type of enemy. You may also have to hold
your enemy off for a set period of time. For those of you who love achievements, there is a
medal system based on how efficient you are at completing missions. So this gives you
something to go back for, and also add replay value to this game.

Fire at will

paper wars battle
One of the greatest this about this game is that it utilizes the Switches touch screen. I found
the game a lot more enjoyable when using the touch controls. I also wanted to do a little
experiment with this game. My nine-year-old son really has no interest in video games. He
will play for a race or two of Mario Kart, but no more just enough to amuse his old man. He
does, however, love his Ipad, I said to him, hey give this new game a try, you can use it like
your Ipad, I then had a hard time getting my switch back because he was having a blast. I
really wish more developers would take advantage of this style of gameplay, so that more
people could enjoy the switch.

Man down

The one problem I had with paper wars was the type of text the developer used. I don’t know
if it is me getting old, but sometimes it took me a minute to figure out the text. They use
uppercase lowercase and backward letters at random.

cannon fodder paper wars

The final stand

At the end of the day, paper war is a hidden gem on the Nintendo EShop. With the amount of
content you get and the amount of replayability you will get out of it, this is a must-have
game, it’s great because you can easily knock out a mission or two while waiting in line at
the store, or riding the bus. There needs to be more games like paper wars that are
designed to be consumed in three to five-minute chunks.

Fe is a Masterful Piece of Art

By Sheldon Benedict

Where am I Fe?

No words, no explanation, just you, in an almost alien world, left up to your sense of exploration. That is Fe in a nutshell. Developed by Zoink Games, Fe is an open world, exploration platformer that tasks you with finding gems to fight back against the “evil” that is trying to consume the world.

My first thought when firing up Fe for the first time was “wow, this game is beautiful!”. The graphics will not disappoint, though they are not your typical Zoink Games style graphics. Zoink still managed to work their personality into the game with sounds, and the look of the creatures, especially the what I call “Dementors,” the evil creatures that roam around and capture the animals around the world. The sounds and ambient noises in Fe help pull you into the world and give you a sense of wonder, as well as a bit of fear as you run and hide trying to escape the dementors.

breathtaking fe
“wow, this game is beautiful!”

That Gameplay Though

The gameplay is simple, yet managed to grab my attention. Platforming is a big part of Fe, as well as the sing mechanic. You are able to interact with the wilderness around you by singing to parts of the environment. This mechanic allows you to alter the world to access new areas, get plants to open up and give you “fruit” that you can then fling at the netting that is blocking paths and holding animals hostage. You can also call upon animals that will come to your aid and show you the path to your next objective. You can also check the map which shows you where to head next. If you prefer just to wander, you can turn off the map markers and discover the world on your own. As you play and progress you meet new animals, and acquire new voices to sing in which lets you communicate with the different animals.

A Slight Miss

A downfall of the game is that sometimes its hard to see where to land due to the color scheme of the game. The game is made up of dark shades of reds, purples, blues, and blacks. This color palette can make the landscape somewhat hard to navigate. One other small issue I’ve run into is getting stuck in specific areas due to the hit boundaries. This issue I can blame myself for, by trying to take a path across a region you would typically go around. I managed to climb halfway up a mountain and got stuck in a valley. This is an area where you wouldn’t usually be. Aside from those issues, the game controls and plays very well.

Conclusion

In the end, Fe has continued to pull me back in to keep exploring. The gameplay is captivating, and even with the lack of any dialog, I feel a connection to this world. I want to help restore it to normal, and rid it of the evil that is attacking it. The art and sounds are just beautiful, and breathtaking! I found myself stopping and just looking at the landscape. If I had to sum Fe up into one word, it would be masterful. This game is definitely worth your money and time; Fe another solid game brought to us by the super creative minds over at Zoink Games! I give this game a 4 out of 5!
