What a direct.
We started off with two new fighters and a amazing looking stage welcome to the fight Castlevania.
Then we were treated the dark Sami’s and Chrom as two new fighter variant skins.
Then the direct showed off the new New Donk City stage and revealed how many stages there would be 103 to be exact.
Some new assist fighters were shown off like Knuckles from sonic and everyone’s Indy darling shovel knight.
The menu was showed off and I love how sleek it looks and can’t wait to explore it.
Another amazing feature was all of the music in this game approximately 900 songs that would play for 28 hours straight. A feature I’m looking forward to is that there are playlist of the music broken up in to game series and you can also make your own playlist. You will also be able to listen to your playlist in handheld mode like a MP3 player.
At the end of the direct when it was all over the biggest surprise of all happened. King K. Rool will join the fight and he looks amazing and powerful looks like I found my new main fighter.
Iconoclasts a breath of fresh air
Iconoclasts for Nintendo Switch is a platformer puzzle game with a great in-depth story that drew me in. In Iconoclasts you start your adventure playing as Robin who is the daughter of a mechanic.Through out Iconoclasts, you will use your wrench to solve different puzzles to advance through the world. The puzzles in Iconoclasts progressively get harder so it became increasingly more satisfying to solve them.
One of my favourite parts of Iconoclasts for Nintendo Switch are the boss battles. The boss fights are a great throw back to the days where you needed to memorize and use good timing to defeat them.
Iconoclasts is at home on the Nintendo switch
Right from the opening of Iconoclasts, I could see and feel that this game screams Nintendo. The amount of care and detail that has gone into this game is incredible. If the Nintendo seal of quality was still around, Iconoclasts would bear that seal.
Quest4Pixels Play or Pass – The Verdict
Iconoclasts is a breath of fresh air on the Nintendo Switch EShop. It gives life in an otherwise bland selection of shovel-ware indie titles. With the amazing art and great music and amazing story, Iconoclasts is everything I could ask for from a game.
This is a definitely a game worth playing – Q4P: Play!

Games with Gold for August
Up first for the Xbox one available August 1 is Forza horizon 2 then on August 16 the awesome siege sword fighting game For Honor will be available.
For the Xbox360 on August 1 will be Dead Space 3. I haven’t played any of the Dead Space games so I’m looking forward to this one the most. Lastly on August 16 Epic Mikey 2 will be available.
All of these titles are a free download as long as you have a current subscription to Xbox live Gold. Over all I feel like this is a really good month for games with gold.

Pocket Rumble is a 16-bit fighting game for the Nintendo Switch. If you thought to yourself isn’t this game already out. You wouldn’t be wrong to think so, Pocket Rumble was one of the first games shown off during the first Nindies Direct. Pocket Rumble takes inspiration from the SNK fighters on the Neo Geo pocket.
Pocket Rumble is a fighter that would have been right at home on the NES. From a glance the game seems like it wouldn’t have much to offer in depth, but once you dive in you will be surprised at how deep the game play gets. Pocket Rumble is a two button fighter with a lot of heart. You will find yourself losing hours trying to master one fighter. It sounds boring but is really satisfying once you pull that combo you have been working on off.
In single player mode there are a few different game choices. there is training, arcade, and career. Training mode will walk you through all of the controls of the game, arcade mode is a place where you can just relax and play, the real fun if in career mode where it keeps track of your win loss percentage of each fighter you use.
One great feature of Pocket Rumble is the online play, you can choose to play with friends and or random opponents, there is also ranked mode for you super competitive players. I have played 15 online matches at this point, it was really fast finding a opponent and there was zero impute lag. This is a really solid online fighter.
Pocket Rumble is a great game with a lot of the features we have grown to want in our fighting games and at only $13 Canadian this is a must have for any fighting fan.

Time to bounce
My first impressions of Bouncy Bob is that the art style is amazing and the music was fantastic. In Bouncy Bob you play as the main character Bob and you bounce around many different stage. Sounds pretty simple, I forgot to mention that you are tasked with killing as many zombies and rabbits as possible. How you move around the stage with Bob is unique, you hold down on the A button to charge your bounce, a arrow appears then starts to move left to right. When the arrow points in the way you want to jump you let go of A and shoot across the stage. You also have a flutter move when you rapidly press the A button. With your flutter move you need to be careful. There is only so much fluttering Bob can handle.
The strongest aspect to Bouncy Bob is it’s couch co-op multiplayer. I had alot more fun playing against my son then I did in the single player mode.
The part of Bouncy Bob that I didn’t like was how you moved around the stage. If I was able to run around and jump I would have had a much better experience.
Great art style
Fantastic multiplayer (local)
Movement inputs could be improved
For only $4.99 (USD) this game is a bargain and will give you some good time playing with your friends. This is BUY for sure

Today is the day alot of Nintendo fans have either been excited for or could care less about. Mario Tennis Aces is available today, and I am really excited to jump in and see what this game has to offer. The adventure mode is where the main story of the game takes place. With out spoilers there are alot of different levels to sharpen your tennis skills on. The story mode isn’t a walk in the park either. There are plenty of levels I had to play multiple times to complete it. I am confident that people who are looking for more then online play will be satisfied with what this game has to offer.
I like most people had a horrific experience with the Mario Tennis Aces demo a few weeks back. I was ready to give up on the hope that online play would be any good. Nintendo has done alot of work to stabilize online play. I was playing on a connection that run’s 5-15 Mbps and the connection had around 15 people using it at one time. I did not have issues with any matches and was able to have smooth game play.
Game, Set, Match
Over all I am really happy with Mario Tennis Aces and I can’t wait to have lots of fun playing with everyone in online tournaments.
Incoming Nintendo direct
Most Nintendo fans after this year’s E3 were left with mixed emotions. Smash Bros was the game that got the most stage time. For people who don’t enjoy the Smash franchise was there enough for them to look forward to. I have some good news for them. I have a strong feeling that there will be a Nintendo direct in the first half of September. The last two years Nintendo has had a direct in September. In 2016 there was one on the 1st of September. Then in 2017 there was another Nintendo direct on the 13th of September. Nintendo really likes this time slot to give themselves a big boost before the holiday season. Also during the tree house we were assured that Nintendo has lots more surprises before the end of the year.
