Nintendo Investor Meeting – April 26, 2018

Nintendo had their investor meeting early this morning. Some new numbers, details and a management change came to light during the meeting. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights.

 

New President of Nintendo

When Tatsumi Kimishima took the reigns after the unfortunate passing of Iwata we knew it would only be temporary. Today Nintendo announced who would be taking over in when Kimishima retires in June, Shuntaro Furukawa. During his first interview he mentioned “I grew up playing the Famicom and come from that generation.” Also Mr. Furukawa is quite fluent in English which will be helpful when communicating with investors and the media.  Shuntaro Furukawa is only 46 years old, Kimishima said that it was conscious decision to skew younger with the newly appointed President.
